The National Park of Kon Ka Kinh is located in the northern-eastern mountain region of the Gia Lai province in Vietnam. The park is one of the priority areas for biodiversity conservation as it hosts some of the remaining intact populations of animals and plants in Vietnam. Kon Ka Kinh is home of an important population of the Nomascus annamensis gibbon. This species is uniquely found in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and the information known on it as still few. Due to a decrease in the population of at least 50% in the last 50 years, its survival is at threat because of habitat loss, hunting and illegal pet trade.
